Share Tools Extension

Share Tools is a very useful extension for Google Chrome and other supported browsers. It enables users to quickly share or save the current tab on social networking and bookmarking websites. Chrome users can install it from this link, and Microsoft Edge users can install from this link.

How To Use?

Once you have installed it successfully, you would notice its icon on the browser toolbar. Click on this icon whenever you want to share the current tab on any supported website, and its popup window will appear as shown in the following screenshot:

Now, click on the icon of your desired website, which would redirect you to that site. By default, this extension launches the sharing links in a new tab. But, if you prefer, you can set it to open sharing links in new window. To change this setting, click on the last ‘gear’ icon in the popup window shown in the above screenshot. This would open extension’s options page as shown in the following screenshot:

Available Sites

The Share Tools extension supports many social networking or bookmarking websites: Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, Google Bookmarks, Google Calendar, WhatsApp Web, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Pocket, Reddit, Evernote, Pinboard, Hacker News, Tumblr, Microsoft Teams, and Wayback Machine (Archive.org). It also provides an option to share the current tab using your default email client (Windows 10 Mail, Thunderbird etc.). You can also generate QR code for the current tab.

Add Your Favorite Site

If the extension doesn’t support your favorite site, you can add one custom site to the Share Tools extension. Follow this guide for detailed instructions.

Remove Unused Buttons

  1. Hi, do you have a plan to extend this tool eventually to Mozilla Firefox web browser in future? This looks like something I might be interested in if it is supported on Firefox.

    Thanks.

  2. Thank you very much, excellent sharing extension. 5 Stars
As a feature request I would like to be able to remove those I don’t use, or be able to reorder them, so the ones I do use are together at the top

  3. Thanks for accepting my request to add Google Calendar and Microsoft Teams. I use this extension many times every day.

  4. Hi. I really like this extension and use it everyday. It has increased my productivity by 10x. Thanks for your work!

I’ve feature request: Could you please add a ‘Send to Kindle’ button? I’ve installed the official send to Kindle browser extension by Amazon, but if you could add this feature in Share Tools, that would be great!
