How To Mute Noisy Tabs in Google Chrome?

Google Chrome recently added a new feature which enables users to easily mute noisy tabs. Chrome already shows up a speaker icon for the tabs generating sound to easily identify noisy tabs, and this latest feature offers a simpler way to mute such tabs.

To mute any tab generating sound, simply make a right click on that tab and choose the option Mute tab in the appeared context menu. Similarly, one can unmute any muted tab using the same steps.

It is important to note here that when you mute any tab, Chrome doesn’t stop playing the media content(s) on that tab. Media contents like embedded videos keep on playing, just the volume level drops to zero.

Users can mute multiple tabs at once by first selecting them while holding the CTRL key, and then using the above trick.
