As explained in this article, you can easily change the default wallpaper of Chromebooks and set any image as your wallpaper. You can also try out our cool tools to automatically change your ChromeOS wallpaper. But there is more to tell.
The built-in wallpaper selection app of ChromeOS has a “Surprise Me” option which is disabled by default. Check this option, as shown in the following screenshot, and you would be surprised by getting a new wallpaper on regular interval. When you turn on this setting, it would automagically set a random high resolution wallpaper on every boot.
Chromebooks and other ChromeOS devices don’t have a real desktop like Windows, where you can put shortcuts to favorite apps or save important files, and this is intentional.
Thankfully, there is option for customizing the default wallpaper. You can access the above wallpaper picker app by right clicking anywhere on the desktop and then selecting “Set Wallpaper”, or by visiting Settings > Appearance > Set wallpaper.
