Chromebook Startup Sound

Missing startup tune on your Chromebook or other Chrome OS device? Install our Startup Sound extension from the Chrome Web Store, and enjoy the startup sound every time you boot your Chrome OS device like Chromebook, Chromebit, Chromebase or Chromebox.

By default, this extension plays the startup tune of Ubuntu on every boot. You can change this setting and choose from startup sounds of Windows XP, Windows 3.1 and macOS. To set your preference, open the extensions page (chrome://extensions), scroll to the Startup Sound extension, and click on the Options link, as shown in the following screenshot:

This extension works only on the Chromebooks and other Chrome OS devices. It doesn’t work on Windows, macOS or Linux platform.

Install the extension from Chrome Web Store, and reboot your Chromebook to enjoy the startup sound. If you like this extension, please rate it 5-stars on the Chrome store. Thanks for your support!

    Dear Kumar:
    Could you develop an app to take a snippet of a song such as “Hail to the Victors!” and use it as the start up sound for a chromebook or laptop. I would buy it and market it to my alumni group. I don’t see that available anywhere…yet. :)

    @humaira No, it works only on Chrome OS. Not for PC. Sorry.

    Please add the option to choose your own file! Or at least add the ubuntu question sound, the one Ubuntu makes on the login screen.
